Idesco releases new generation eco friendly Desfire readers

Oulu, Finland

Idesco has recently released a series of exciting product and software updates around Mifare, and particularly Desfire Idesco products.
The first of these new arrivals of these powerfully updated readers are the Access 7 C 2.0 and Access 8 CD 2.0 in basic housings which are now available. Additionally, evaluation units for these products with slim housings are also available, namely the Access 7 C 2.0 Slim, Access 7 Cpin Slim 2.0, Access 8 CD 2.0 Slim and Access 8 CDpin Slim, including OSDP-compliant versions.

The new Descoder unlocks powerful new features as this application has been updated to extend yet more configurability and customisability to the new Access 8 CD 2.0 readers. Already a powerful application, Descoder has been enhanced to version 2.0, unlocking new features to ensure continued freedom to customise access control in ways that far outstrip anything most proprietary, closed technology manufacturers might offer.

Nearly every one of the current and future product updates Idesco is planning for 2012 will also constitute significant improvements in Idesco’s eco20 product initiative.

An eco20 Idesco product means it consumes 60% less energy than similar products on the market. However, Idesco’s eco20 product line was not designed to merely reduce energy costs. The profoundly low power consumption designs were intended to leverage reductions in emergency power requirement, with all the environmentally-unfriendly costs that necessitates. Simply put, lowered power consumption means less emergency power resources a security infrastructure must deploy.

Idesco has also reduced the amount of epoxy it uses to secure its new, updated readers against inclement weather and tampering. Readers are still just as tough, but now leave a significantly smaller eco-footprint. Factor in that Idesco’s tough, flexibly re-configurable Access 7 C 2.0 and Access 8 CD 2.0 readers will not need recycling for a long time because they are so easily migrated into new configurations (and for Access 8 CD 2.0, even higher technologies) in the future. With the simple swipe of a configuration card, you can migrate your reader up to its next level of capability.

The result is a reduced eco-footprint, conveniently extendable lifespan and a leveraging-impact in low power consumption translating into signifcant cost savings.
