The DSR-HB8000 records at 400 frames per second and can capture images from up to sixteen cameras, four of which can be IP cameras, can therefore be recorded at full frame rate. Sixteen channel audio recording is also possible whilst this top of the range machine has a potential on-board storage capacity of up to 3.75 TB of video.

Sanyo's new high performance DVR utilises a unique compression technology called MPEG-4+ which allows rapid, high quality transmission of data over a network and gives especially fast-forward and reverse playback.

The DSR-HB8000 is equipped with telemetry coaxial control which provides control over PTZ cameras. Another feature called Monitor Plus allows other networked DVRs to be accessed and as a result, up to 80 cameras can be monitored and controlled from a single DVR.

A feature that will be of particular interest to retailers is the DSR-HB8000's ability to interact with EPOS systems. Video can be searched by looking for specific data or text and suspicious activity can therefore be quickly and easily analysed.
