GeoVision secures Shanghai port

Taipei, Taiwan

Pudong Container Terminal of Shanghai Port is the world's top 3 busiest container port. The port requires an effective security video management system to fulfill its demand to manage the continuous growing traffic flow.

With the traffic flow as busy as Shanghai port, the challenges are effective video data management, and fast search and playback function. In addition, as the major object being monitored are vehicls, effective management for vehicle entering and exiting the terminal under high traffic flow is also the consideration for choosing a security system. This is why GeoVision NVR and ANPR (i.e. Automatic Number Plate Recognition) were selected because the solution provides not only the routine video surveillance task, but to intelligently recognize vehicle plates at all entrances and exits for further management.

With the NVR and ANPR integration, operators quickly identify a vehicle by plate and playback its associated video within seconds. In addition, operators may view live or retrieve archives remotely the video event and vehicle plate snapshot, to compare for suspicious vehicle plates.

GeoVision ANPR takes both analog and digital inputs, and with its hybrid platform it makes the system flexible for all users.
