Geovision adds loitering detection to new box camera

Taipei, Taiwan

Geovision has added a loitering detection analysis feature to its newly released box camera - the GV-BX2600. The function itself is interesting for various applications as it is able to serve as a suspicious behaviour detector, as well as an analytical marketing tool to help determine the effectiveness of retail displays for example.

Users may be familiar with the security measures loitering detection can provide, however it should be noted for its function used in marketing as well. For example, retail stores or museums may use it to measure the interest in a specific commodity or exhibit.

In addition to loitering detection, the GV-BX2600 is sensitive to repetitive motion, for example rain, snow, fountain water which helps to effectively reduce false motion alarms. The GV-BX2600 also supports video analytic features to facilitate people counting, object tracking, and alarms for suspicious activities.

The GV-BX2600 comes with a 2MP sensor, with built-in wide dynamic range (WDR Pro) and super low lux. The sensor incorporated is a newly introduced feature of the box model, with vastly improved WDR performance and better super low lux capabilities. The image quality is 1080p at up to 60fps.

To make installations more flexible, the GV-BX2600 also provides a built-in mini USB port to support wireless operation through a GV-Wifi adapter (optional add-on) or external storage using a USB hard drive. It also supports PoE or DC 12V.
