Fortitek's IVS brings surveillance system to higher level

Taipei, Taiwan

FortiTek Technology, a subsidiary of Bei Bai Safety Co. Ltd. and a member of TSSIA, provides their latest intelligent video devices that perform robust intelligent video surveillance. The devices proactively analyse video and produce alerts and other actionable information on the basis of user-defined rules. Users can specify objects of interest and determine if those objects, for example, cross a video tripwire, enter a specified area of interest or simply appear in the camera view. Rules are processed within the intelligent device for real-time comparison to the video analysis. Robust devices and API frameworks enable plug-and-play with any device or existing environment.

The emphasis on security in the world today is greater than ever. Critical infrastructure facilities especially are enhancing their security systems world-wide to guard against all types of threats to personnel, equipment, passengers, cargo, aircraft, trains and vessels.

Fortitek’s system monitors surveillance cameras in real-time to automatically detect security incidents or potentially threatening events taking place within the view of a camera. Using applied computer vision technology, a highly sophisticated branch of artificial intelligence, Fortitek’s software detects objects (people, vehicles, aircraft, watercraft) in real-time, classifies and tracks the objects, and automatically generates alerts notifying all appropriate security personnel in real time when a threat occurs.

Fortitek’s sophisticated threat recognition capabilities enable the automatic detection of a wide range of events and activities including perimeter breaches, theft, left bags, loitering, and counter-surveillance activities, allowing customers to provide high levels of protection and security to facilities and personnel. This system is readily deployed and should be considered for any site where a video surveillance camera is deployed.

The Fortitek system’s ability to inform the user not only that a security breach has occurred, but also when and where it is occurring, in real time, greatly enhances the system’s value to the customer over other types of video surveillance systems. Since notification targets include cell phones, pagers and personal digital assistants (PDAs) as well as consoles and email, security personnel are not required to remain in a guard station watching any number of monitors. As they can actually see the cause of any security breach in real time, security personnel can determine what extent of response is necessary. Most importantly, Fortitek’s system can efficiently distinguish between threatening (e.g., persons) and non-threatening (e.g., wildlife) targets to increase the level of effectiveness in safety.
