Europe edges closer to common Security Systems Standard

Zug, Switzerland

During the recent Plenary Meeting of Project Committee CEN/CLC TC4 "Services for fire safety and security systems" in Paris, the unanimous decision was taken to bring the draft of this Services Standard to the enquiry stage.
During the past couple of years Euralarm has been actively involved  in the Project Committee CEN/CLC TC4 to create a European standard “Services for fire safety and security systems". Meanwhile the work was supported actively by 17 European CEN/CENELEC National Standardisation Bodies (NB).

This standard is in the process of defining the minimum level of quality for the services provided for systems which fall under scope of the TC72, TC79, TC191 covering the service provider as an organisation / company; the competency of the staff of the service provider and the results of the services provided.

Although the expected standard per itself does not outline a detailed and comprised basis for a third party certification of a service provider that is valid all over Europe, it is nevertheless the first qualified document in the area “Fire & Safety and Security Systems" codifying evolved national experiences and  opinions, fixed for national applications as well.

Euralarm strongly supports this standard and believes that it will help to improve the quality of the services that are provided by the fire and security industry across Europe.
