EU proposes encryption back door ban

Panama City, Panama

Nord VPN is a leading virtual private network (VPN) provider with more than ten years of experience in the field. The company raises the question as to whether government surveillance has gone too far. The European Union is proposing to put a stop to uncontrolled invasion of people’s privacy - according to Nord VPN the EU Parliament will be revising a proposal that would require end-to-end encryption when available and that would forbid back doors on users’ devices.

According to Nord VPN, the new EU proposal will weaken the U.K.’s Investigatory Powers Act, because even after the UK leaves Europe, if the majority of tech companies in the EU are using end-to-end encryption, and no back doors are allowed, then it would be hard to make British people use versions of apps with security holes in them.

“We have been very vocal about the need to keep people’s private information confidential and safe,” said Marty P. Kamden, CMO of Nord VPN (Virtual Private Network). “So we are glad to see that European Parliament has drafted a proposal that will help respect Article 7 of the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights, one of which is the right to privacy.”

“Government’s intrusion into private communications might look useful on paper in order to fight crime, but such legislation is usually the product of people who don’t know how technology works. Back doors would bring along new security holes, and could result in even more crime.”

In addition to using encrypted websites, Internet users should install VPNs. “VPN is still the best-known tool that encrypts the traffic flow between a user’s computer and a VPN server, making this data invisible to any third party” said Marty P. Kamden. “Nord VPN focuses on military-grade security and encryption, keeping no customer logs, and using only the latest encryption protocols.”

Nord VPN offers a military-grade encryption with advanced privacy solutions to ensure secure access to online sites with no restrictions. As the company operates under the jurisdiction of Panama, where there are no mandatory data retention laws, they maintain that they strictly keep no logs of their users’ activity online to ensure complete client privacy.
