Effective IP surveillance at Argentinian quarry

Comodoro, Argentina

A professional integrations team recently successfully installed a wireless IP surveillance solution at Transportes Rada Tilly S.A in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut state, Argentina.
The main purpose of this project was to establish a wireless network that would effectively cover all three company offices situated 200 metres apart and enable remote viewing of the quarry site via an IP surveillance solution at the same site.

In order to achieve this aim it was decided to deploy a series of Airlive Airmax5 outdoor CPEs to cover all three offices, so that the IP cameras used to monitor the site could be viewed from 30 km away, and with the added possibility for cell phone access. In conjunction with the Airmax5, Airlive's IP cameras (incl. models of OD-600HD, OD-325HD, POE-250 HD, and WL-350HD) were also used along with their WN-300R Routers, 8-port switch (Live-FSH8PS), and Airlive's NVR4.

One of the main drawbacks for the integrators was the fact that there are often electrical problems in the area, which could potentially effect the Airlive NVR4. To solve this problem, the integrators installed a PC with Campro Express 64 and a UPS to effectively stabilise the electrical supply.
