DSC 7500 Barricade provides counter terrorist protection

Palmdale, Calif.

Delta Scientific has introduced its new DSC 7500 swing beam barricade. This barricade is designed to close off one or two lanes of a roadway and provide counter terrorist level protection against vehicle attack.

In its first crash test, the barricade stopped a 15,000-pound (66.7 kN) vehicle traveling 50 mph (80 kph) with zero penetration, equivalent to 1.2-million foot pounds of kinetic energy. By doing so, the new DSC 7500 meets the K12 crash certification standard set by the United States Department of State.
"The DSC 7500 is part of a family of new vehicle barricades developed by Delta Scientific Corp. utilizing its latest crash beam technology," explained Delta Scientific Senior Vice President David Dickinson. "They have been tested and certified to stop truck bomb attackers dead in their tracks right at the barricade. The DSC 7500 will be used worldwide, primarily at locations where roadways need to be secured from attacking vehicles."
The DSC 7500 is supplied as an easy to use manual gate or powered with full automation features. Other versions of the DSC 7500 Series include a full swing gate with anti-climb features that can replace existing non-rated swing gates. A cantilevered sliding gate with the DSC 7000 series crash beam is also available with the full crash rating.
