Dedicated Micros wins US award for Netvu console

Warrington, England

Dedicated Micros announce that NetVu console - a powerful remote CCTV viewing station - has won a prestigious US award.

During the recent ISC West 2008 show in Las Vegas, NetVu Console received the New Product Showcase (NPS) award - sponsored by the Security Industry Association
(SIA) - in the Monitoring category.

The innovative NetVu Console offers installers and end users a non-PC-based alternative to remote viewing and Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) control of CCTV cameras over the network.

"The NetVu Console allows users to deploy an additional viewing station with minimal training and installation costs," said Mark Provinsal, vice president of marketing and product strategy for Dedicated Micros Americas Region. "I believe that the NPS judges recognised that NetVu Console fills a void in the market for a remote monitoring device that is simple to deploy and operate."

Designed to have minimal installation and training requirements, the NetVu Console consists of a traditional, ruggedised, PTZ style keyboard that can be readily connected to the network and a local monitor to provide a remote viewing point on the surveillance system - ideal for installing extra control stations. The solution is able to stream video and audio from any NetVu Connected DVR or Server through the network for local viewing and control.

Commented Pauline Norstrom, worldwide head of marketing at Dedicated Micros: "We are delighted with this award which reinforces our belief that there is considerable demand out there for a system like NetVu Console. Not only does it enable extra guard stations to be added cost effectively but also is, we believe, a practical - and capable - way of bridging the gap between the security and IT worlds."
