Dahua commits further towards product interoperability

Hangzhou, China

Dahua has demonstrated its commitment to a combined industry move towards interoperability by taking part in the 8th ONVIF Developer's Plugfest testing gala.
The event took place in Mogliano Veneto, Italy from 4th to 6th March and was attended by more than 61 senior technical experts from 28 of the world's state-of-art IP-based manufacturers. Dahua technology, as a key manufacturer in video technology and a full member of ONVIF, attended this event to demonstrate their commitment to this field over recent years.

The significance of the ONVIF platform is self-evident, especially in this IP surveillance era. While focusing on interoperability, one of the most valued features of this initiative, the Plugfest also serves as a trust platform, where manufacturers all over the world can freely and effectively exchange dialogue on their views and technological problems to better understand ONVIF protocol and to implement new ideas within products, with the aim of better serving their customers.

Dahua, with dual roles of both device and client vendor, dispatched a team of four to attend the meeting. In addition, Dahua was one of the few vendors, capable of bringing an NVR solution to this testing gala. The Dahua NVR supports full ONVIF functions with comprehensive interoperability testing with IPCs.

The Plugfest was split into two parts, peer-to-peer testing and user scenario testing, the former gives testers full space to inter-test with one another, while the latter simulates the real operational environment, allowing testers to be aware of the working conditions of their product, which is very practical for daily use. During the three-day plugfest, the Dahua Team, including both the device and client sections, successfully inter-tested with all attending companies, such as Axis, Bosch, Canon, Sony, Axxonsoft, Exacq, Genetec, Milestone and many other leading international corporations.

According to the company, during the testing and exchanges, some of Dahua's product features impressed testing peers, for example, Dahua IPCs include integrated video analysis, which is rare; and some of the company's UI design also won positive feedback. Meanwhile, the Dahua team identified some existing software bugs, they then looked into the causes, by carrying out a comprehensive and in-depth analysis to get the bugs removed to make the products of various main-stream manufactures work well together. “As the chairman Takahiro Iwasaki put it, I agree that the Plugfest is an exceptional open platform, at which, engineers, for whom it is normally impossible to get together and have a face-to-face test on ordinary working days, can finally sit together and work on the interoperability of their products. Meanwhile, the three-day testing is also a great opportunity for vendors to learn from each other. Dahua renewed partnerships with some of the attending manufactures and exchanged views on the technology and the trends,” commented James Wang, Product Director at Dahua Technology.
