CNL enhances Washington State Ferries Division

Indianapolis, In (USA)

The Ipsecuritycenter PSIM solution, from CNL Software, has been chosen by G4S Technology as part of a security update project for the Washington State Department of Transportation, Ferries Division - the largest U.S. Ferry system annually transporting more than 22 million riders including 10 million vehicles.
The Washington State Department of Transportation Ferries Division (WSF) is the largest ferry system in the nation and fourth largest in the world. Over 22 million customers annually rely on WSF’s 22 vessels and 20 ferry terminals for safe, reliable transportation across Puget Sound. WSF provides two vital transportation functions: as a marine highway and as a transit service provider and is an essential part of the highway network of Western Washington. It serves as the only public transportation link to the mainland for Vashon Island and the San Juan Islands, and it is the second largest transit system in Washington State.

G4S Technology will install a new Milestone Corporate Enterprise level video management system (VMS). Ipsecuritycenter from CNL Software will be utilised as the physical security information management system (PSIM) to integrate various security components into one interoperable command and control system (CCS) with a common user interface. Updates also include a new AMAG access control system (ACS) that will bring the Ferries Division into Transportation Workers Information Clearance (TWIC) compliance. The work is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.

“Our ports require complete situational awareness at all times as the risks to their facilities constantly change and can have catastrophic effects far beyond their land-based perimeters. Integrating security systems will allow the immediate verification of any incidents, greatly increasing their preparedness to respond to potential threats”, says Matthew Kushner, President - CNL Americas. “We look forward to working with G4S and WSF on this project.”
