Chiron strengthens management team

Reading, UK

Lodewijk Van Ommeren

Chiron Security Communications has followed up the major introduction of its Iris Touch IP alarm transmission and monitoring system by strengthening its management team. Lodewijk Van Ommeren joins the company as sales & marketing manager, with a brief to expand Chiron's leading alarms-over-IP range.

With a background in major accounts and integrated solutions for blue-chip security organisations including Securitas and US telecoms giant Lucent Technologies, Lodewijk's new brief includes a significant sales expansion in territories such as Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium and Scandinavia. He'll be based in the Netherlands for this role, staying close to Chiron's mixed customer base of installers, distributors, ARCs, end-users and consultants throughout Europe.

Chiron is now actively promoting the attractive multiple benefits of its Iris Touch system, including its ease of commissioning, user-friendly touch-screen interface, independent certification to the highest European standards, and worldwide approval by major insurers. The system additionally offers all the advantages of alarms-over-IP transmission and monitoring technology, including substantial operational cost savings of typically 50-70 percent compared with conventional dedicated links, remote troubleshooting, remote CCTV camera control and proven network resilience through constant dual-path back-up communication via PSTN, GSM or GPRS routes.

"We've brought Lodewijk on-board at this significant stage in Chiron's development, as we launch Iris Touch alongside our existing alarms-over-IP systems line-up," says Chiron Security Communications' MD, Ian Tredinnick. "This system is just what the market is looking for and Lodewijk's appointment is further evidence that Chiron is investing in the exciting future of alarms-over-IP."
