Our population is aging, and the number of retired persons, no matter whether living at home alone or at a nursing home in a group has been steadily rising over recent years. Airlive's brand new Appcam has been developed and made for care of the elderly and other similar market demands. 

Airlive's 720TVL Appcam series, CW-720IR (wireless) and  CU-720IR (PoE), have been designed for easy installation, use and monitoring, helping to solve traditional installation difficulties and bringing a pleasant usage experience. With Airlive plug-and-play technology, the Appcam can be installed hassle-free within a couple of minutes without network configuration requirements (No IP address settings or port forwarding is needed to connect to the camera).

The wireless camera (Airlive CW-720IR) can be easily mounted on the wall or under the ceiling.  The wireless connection means it has been designed to minimize the burden of cabling at installation. Moreover, by using its built-in wireless network function, users can even forget about the cabling issue during the initial planning stage.

Family members can log in to the installed Appcam via smart mobile devices, such as Iphone/Ipad and Android devices, by downloading the Airlive Campro Mobile app. Accordingly, users can monitor the elderly or infirm at home by easily accessing the CU-720IR or CW-720IR whenever the network is connected.

In terms of storage, the Airlive 720IR family is equipped with SD-card slots that are able to store up to 64GB. This means users can record at least one week of footage using the CBR setting. Using this facility also gives users a further, cost free option to store their videos ( saving on NVR expenses). Users can also access the recorded files by simply unplugging the memory card and loading the stored footage on to their personal computer or on to a remote device via a network. Moreover, if they were to use an NVR, then the Micro SD card can be utilised as a backup storage device in case the NVR is out of order.

A motion detection function is offered in the Appcam; it is able to detect movement both during the day and at night ( in total darkness the visibility is specificed to a distance of up to 5m.) Event-triggered snapshots and recordings could potentially inform the user and help to ensure that any criminal activity is dealt with via one of the auto-response action options: send to e-mail, NAS, FTP, Voice alert, NAS or Notify to HTTP/TCP Servers.

The Appcam also supports an audio function adding a powerful complement to the video facility. With this function, the Appcam detects noise – such as the breaking of a window or voices – and uses this as a trigger to transmit and record video, or to alert users of suspicious activities. 

The Airlive 720IR Appcam family provides 720P high definition resolutions at 30 frames per second. With this sensor, the IP camera is capable of capturing images of up to 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.  This is sufficient for recognising people and following their actions. As it is capable of capturing and recording high resolution video, the Appcam provides clear images for viewing and playback. The HD resolution cameras are able to reproduce clearer images to easily discern faces, objects, people, and other details filmed by the camera. 

For night vision, the Airlive 720 Appcam series is designed with built in IR Leds with a removable IR-cut filter to adjust infrared light both in day and night modes.
