AEOS integrated with 3M full page reader

Groenlo, The Netherlands

Nedap N.V. announces its integration of the latest 3M passport reader into its AEOS access control system. The integration enables unprecedented fast and accurate automation of visitor enrolment procedures, with both data and image capture.

Enrolment of employees and visitors can be a time consuming and labour-intensive task. Accurate enrolment with proper authentication is essential for any access control system. Accidental or deliberate mistakes during the administering of personal data and access rights can result in a serious security risk.

Now there's a new method of fast, accurate enrolment, formerly reserved for border control. Nedap announces the integration of the latest 3M passport reader in the AEOS access control system. This latest reader not only captures passport data such as surname, first name, date of birth, passport expiry date, passport number and nationality, but it also records images. If a passport is placed on the reader it is automatically detected and read. All the data and images are recorded in the AEOS access control database.

One of the major benefits of this enrolment method is that it guarantees proper authentication. Furthermore, it enables exceptionally fast and accurate automation of visitor enrolment procedures. The enrolment procedure for visitors can be automated further in AEOS using standard authorisation templates and automated paper barcode badge printing.

Nedap's access control system AEOS can operate with any identifier, which makes it possible to consistently provide the most efficient and effective solution given the specific customers' situation.
