AEOS Faces provides intuitive security management solution

Nedap introduced AEOS faces during the Security Essen show in October. AEOS faces transforms the familiar, text based access control system into an easily understandable and intuitive security management solution. The system now has a flexible graphic interface, is web-based and meets the highest IT standards. According to the manufacturer it is one of a kind.

AEOS is now available to a whole new group of users due to the introduction of AEOS faces. Not only security officers, but also receptionists, operators, supporting staff and warehouse workers, can now profit from the many features of AEOS. Tasks can be easily executed with simple, task-focused web pages: a major improvement for productivity and security,
Business Unit Director Berend Jan Palamba explains: 'We realised that many organisations were getting less than optimal results from their sophisticated yet very complex security management systems. Only a limited number of specially trained staff is able to operate it. AEOS faces is meant for all the other employees who are confronted with security issues in their daily operations. AEOS faces focuses on usability and user friendliness. Because of the intuitive and task based user interface anyone can operate it straight away without training."
Nedap incorporates AEOS faces in the newest version of AEOS, including example applications and an icon library. Implementing the system is therefore relatively easy. AEOS partners now have the possibility of providing solutions which seamlessly fit the demands and wishes of the customer. AEOS faces enables customers to make optimal use of existing infrastructure and legacy systems. Thanks to the fact that AEOS is web based, the system integrates easily into existing intranet or other web applications.
Nedap is the first company to apply Web 2.0 technology in a security management system. AEOS faces' technology offers completely new possibilities in terms of user friendliness and flexibility. By using new and open standards, AEOS faces is directly supported by known software, such as Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver.
