A farewell to the founder of Geutebruck

Regensburg, Germany

Thomas Geutebrueck, 1935 - 2019. May he rest in peace.

Management, employees and partners of Geutebrück GmbH mourn the loss of Thomas Geutebrück. The company founder died at the age of 84 after a long illness.

50 years ago, almost to the day, Thomas Geutebrück started Geutebrück GmbH in his garage. There, the international triumph of a brand that today is synonymous with its own unique video security software began. In over 70 countries, museums, public authorities, public institutions, critical infrastructures, companies from the energy industry or industry and international banks rely on Geutebrück.

Thomas Geutebrück was a brilliant inventor and visionary. His wealth of ideas has allowed simple video surveillance systems to develop into intelligent and highly available complete solutions that are capable of handling, analyzing and recording video images from thousands of cameras, in a matter of seconds. Geutebrück made provisions for data protection long before the introduction of the DSGVO by clearly setting access rights to sensitive images and data.

His work was always aligned to the needs of his customers. "With us, the client doesn't get what he wants, he gets what he needs" was one of his favourite slogans. He underlined the importance of personal contact and individual, in-depth consultation. To this day, the company adheres to this philosophy.

In early 2000, Thomas Geutebrück withdrew largely from operational and strategic business life and handed over the management of the company to his daughter Katharina Geutebrück. Since 2012, she has been sharing the management of the company with her husband Christoph Hoffmann.

The engineer was born on 12th October 1935 in Düsseldorf. As a teenager he moved together with his parents to Bad Honnef, where he later founded his company. Geutebrück was not only a technician, but also an avid carnivalist and co-founder of the "Circus Comicus", which is known well beyond the borders of his hometown.

On 20 December 2019, the official farewell of Thomas Geutebrück will take place at 3 p.m. at the premises of Geutebrück GmbH, Im Nassen, 53578 Windhagen, Germany.
