Veridos marks a new era in travel ID verification

Veridos Selfkiosk technology ID verification technology

The Vericheck Selfkiosk and M600 document reader were recently launched by Veridos at this year’s Future Travel Experience (FTE) Global in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the company, the new solutions represent the next generation of products in its verification portfolio with the aim to make travel more convenient and secure.

In addition to airlines, government agencies and airport operators, Veridos participated in the event where it showcased two new verification devices. Veridos’ first ever attendance at the conference reflects the business’ growth ambitions in the highly attractive American marketplace, which plays a key role for the company, as well as the growing importance of smart travel experiences.

With Vericheck Selfkiosk, Veridos introduces an easy-to-use border control solution that allows travellers to self-register quickly and securely. For this purpose, the kiosk uses biometric technology to capture the travellers’ modalities and verifies travel documents, and thereby speeds up border crossing. The kiosks automatically adjust to the individual’s height, so that even wheelchair users or families with kids can take advantage of the inclusive self-service solution. Due to the modular design of the Vericheck Selfkiosk, customised biometric requirements can be implemented, alongside easy integration into any existing border control system and both internal and external backend databases.

The second border crossing solution presented at the FTE Global was the M600 document reader. The compact device offers fast and convenient document verification for a wide range of potential end users. It is ideal for governmental bodies, such as civil registration, border control and police authorities, as well as industries where security related identity checks for on-boarding or access control are a must. The multifunctional reader automatically detects the type of credential being presented. It verifies all common variants of modern travel and identification documents with magnetic strips, barcodes, IR and UV images. The M600 is easy to use and with its integrated high frequency (HF) RFID capability, it can also read high-security contactless chips from a short distance.

"FTE Global is an ideal opportunity for Veridos to exchange and present our new technology and vision for the travel industry," explains Marc-Julian Siewert, CEO at Veridos. "Verification in particular is crucial for us as increased passenger volumes show the need for new, effective solutions. Our innovative devices therefore also reflect the current requirement to process complex authentication as quickly and securely as possible, including self-service applications."
