An intelligent key cabinet that stands out from the crowd and an innovative speedgate that seamlessly integrates with contemporary architecture were the winners of this year’s Red Dot Award in the Product Design category.

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions. It is divided into three disciplines to assess the diversity in the field of design: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design and Design Concept.

“Designing the Traka Touch Pro required a monumental team effort, involving insight from right across the business, Assa Abloy Group, our partners and most importantly, our customers,” says Wayne Stant, Product Director Traka.

“Accomplishing this in the middle of a pandemic was amazing to be part of and is now being rewarded with market success. So we’re thrilled to receive the prestigious Red Dot award as an extra validation of all our hard work.”

"My team and I couldn't be more proud to have won the Red Dot Award for the SG Expression Speedgate,” says Rogier Verwer, Head of Product Unit Security Entrance Control & Revolving Doors.

“Our mission was to create the perfect fusion of security, motion, and emotion. The SG Expression not only breaks tradition with its sleek, cutting-edge technology, but also pushes the boundaries of aesthetics and functionality. This prestigious award is a testament to our success in delivering an unparalleled product experience."

The Red Dot Design Award was founded in 1955, when a jury came together for the first time to assess the best designs of the time. Since then, the coveted “Red Dot” distinction has been the internationally recognized seal of outstanding design quality.
