The Detektor International Award was introduced in 2000 and its prestige is derived from the fact that there is no formal entry process. Instead, each year, the Detektor International Awards panel of jurors analyse the security market to discover, nominate and vote the products which demonstrate the most innovation, versatility and user-friendliness.

In this 2021 edition twelve manufacturers were awarded and four of them were chosen as the overall winner in their respective product category: ID & Access Control, Alarm & Detection, Video Surveillance and IoT Security.
