Idis AI video solutions up for innovation awards

Brentford, Middlesex (UK)

Idis continues a notable run of success in major security industry awards with confirmation that its AI Box DV-2232 has now been shortlisted for the Benchmark Innovation Awards, and that its deep learning analytics tech also features twice in the finalists line-up for the PSI Premier Awards.

These latest nominations follow a cluster of major wins for the company in recent months, including its recent trophy for best overall security equipment manufacturer in the 2021 OSPAs.

In the Benchmark Innovation Awards, Idis’s AI Box DV-2232 has been nominated in the Business Intelligence category. This is particularly significant, as Idis has been clear that, while the AI Box was introduced rapidly during the pandemic to boost essential infection risk reduction efforts, the technology was also designed to deliver real long-term value after those risks subside.

In particular, its highly accurate people counting and heatmapping functions will help bricks-and-mortar retailers gain better insight into customer behaviour particularly when integrated with point-of-sale systems. This actionable intelligence helps store managers adapt operations, improve customer experiences and turn browsing into purchases.

For facilities managers and security directors it will support return-to-work strategies, helping them understand and optimise the way their facilities are used right down to department and desk level – everything from efficient allocation of shared workspaces, hot desks, and meeting rooms to better control of people flow, and optimising heating and cooling based on occupancy and density.

In the meantime, the plug-and-play appliance continues to ease pressure on frontline staff with automatic detection of infection risk factors including social distancing, mask wearing, and building occupancy limits - notifications are sent to client software, mobile apps or via SMS in the event of non-compliance.

Each AI Box used as a Covid-19 solution allows users to connect up to 32 cameras covering entrances, exits and internal areas with four essential analytics running simultaneously on each stream. A traffic light display automates control of building occupancy and includes dashboards to users with at-a-glance real time status as well as comprehensive reporting tools.

Powered by the Idis Deep Learning Engine with its industry-leading accuracy, the AI Box DV-2232 not only supports safe return-to-workplace strategies at campuses, corporate sites, retail and commercial offices businesses, it will help to ensure preparedness for resurgent virus risks over the coming months and beyond.

In the PSI Premier Awards, the AI Box DV-2232 has been nominated as CCTV Product of the Year, while the Idis Deep Learning Analytics, which encompasses object, intrusion, and loitering detection, Idis Meta Filtering (IMF) and Person Match has been shortlisted in the Software/Analytics Product of the Year category. The winners will be chosen following a public vote.

“This has been a remarkable year of awards success for Idis, with the industry increasingly recognising the advantages of our accurate and affordable deep learning analytics capabilities,” says James Min, Managing Director, Idis Europe. “Idis end-to-end surveillance solutions give end-users everything they need for trouble-free, high performance surveillance. And we are building long term partnerships with systems integrators, giving full project support whenever needed, plus the benefits of true plug-and-play installation.”
