The updates enable users to build on existing infrastructure, reduce onsite work and streamline deployment by eliminating the need to replace readers or issue new mobile keys.
One of the biggest obstacles for mobile projects is the need to update readers already installed throughout a facility. The HID Mobile Access App now includes new functionality that enables HID mobile-ready readers, including HID Signo and Iclass SE, to use existing Seos keys without needing to replace or reconfigure readers, perform firmware updates or require truck rolls. The result is a faster, lower-cost path to mobile while maintaining security.
"Organisations have recognised the value of mobile access for years, but large-scale implementations have often required significant time, resources and coordination," said Nick Stoner, Vice President, PACS NAM Channel Sales, HID. "These new capabilities make mobile deployments more practical by allowing customers to use the infrastructure they already have and giving integration partners a more efficient way to deliver projects."
Additional updates that support the transition to mobile include:
- Expanded digital wallet support: HID is adding support for Samsung Wallet, expanding digital wallet options in global markets. By supporting wallets people already use, organizations can accelerate mobile adoption, making access more convenient.
- Simplified reader management: HID Linq Mobile enables administrators to configure, update and prepare compatible readers directly from a mobile device. Firmware updates, reader configuration and mobile enablement can all be completed in the field using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and NFC, reducing the onsite work required to prepare readers for mobile credentials.
Rather than requiring organisations to choose between maintaining existing infrastructure and adopting mobile credentials, HID's latest enhancements provide a practical digital transformation path that supports both. Customers can scale mobile access strategically, building on existing investments while supporting current operational priorities and future growth.
