UAE signs agreement with Portugal Security sector

Lisbon, Portugal and Dubai, U.A.E

Within the scope of the Portugal Safe project, the APSEI – Portuguese Security Association - promoted two Inverse Missions to Portugal, in April and May 2023, with two representatives from the United Arab Emirates. During six days of missions, the delegation visited companies in the security sector and institutions linked to innovation, participated in the Proteger 2023 International Conference and in the Business Network event, where opportunities for partnerships between companies from the UAE and Portugal for Portuguese SMEs were addressed, as well as the Security Sector and the Project tools developed: market studies, benchmarking, collaborative network and platform and prospecting and contact actions.

“As part of the security sector's internationalisation strategy, APSEI defined the United Arab Emirates as a market of opportunity. If Portuguese SMEs are already recognised, in other sectors, as quality and reliable partners, why not extend this reputation to the Security Sector and work alongside the most recognized world players, in a win-win perspective”, says Carlos Dias, Chairman of the Board from APSEI.

The UAE delegation was composed by Dr. Lurdes Eusébio, Chairwoman of the Portuguese Business Council in Sharjah, which aims to improve the network of contacts and business opportunities for Portuguese SMEs in particular in the emirate of Dubai, and Sunil Saxena, Managing Partner of Radiant DWC LLC, exclusive distributor of Wildcraft in the Middle East.

Some Portuguese companies were visited that showed their expertise, such as Nauta /Cosmo, Instalfogo, EQS and Longo Plano.

During this Mission, APSEI signed a Cooperation Protocol with the Portugal Business Council in Sharjah, in which both parties will take advantage of all relevant opportunities, within their competences, to promote and develop trade, investment, economic, scientific and technological cooperation and other business relationships between companies, entrepreneurs and organisations in safety and security in the UAE and Portugal.

The Portugal Safe, SIAC-Internationalisation project, promoted by APSEI, is co-financed by Compete2020, Feder and Portugal2020.
