Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock has once again achieved a significant milestone: for the third consecutive time, the complete “Train Blueprint Architecture” has been certified by TÜV SÜD in accordance with international standards IEC 62443-2-4 and -3-3. The scope of certification has been expanded to now include the entire vehicle, including Automatic Train Control (ATC).

In an increasingly connected world, cybersecurity is essential for modern rail systems. Trains are evolving into complex digital platforms whose operational technologies must be protected throughout their entire lifecycle.

IEC 62443 is an internationally recognised series of standards that defines cyber security requirements for industrial automation and control systems. It covers the entire system lifecycle - from development and integration to operation and maintenance.

The standard has been adopted across various OT domains, including the rail sector, and forms the basis for rail-specific guidelines such as CLC/TS 50701 and the upcoming IEC 63452. As these frameworks gain global importance, compliance is becoming increasingly critical for both manufacturers and operators.

Adherence to these standards strengthens Siemens Mobility’s position as a trusted provider and supports compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
