The hospital’s new tower is a state-of-the-art facility that will be home to a variety of advanced medical equipment, several operating rooms with viewing space for medical students, a pediatric trauma bay, numerous added patient rooms, and so much more. These added capabilities will allow Carilion Roanoke Memorial to serve even more patients, leading to a need for additional parking spaces and efficient parking management.
Along with the tower’s construction, a new parking garage will be positioned across the street and will address the hospital’s parking concerns with 536 added spaces, distributed between five floors. As an added benefit, Carilion has selected TKH Security’s Park Assist Solution, a smart parking solution, to be installed in the parking garage. Robins & Morton / Branch Builds, A Joint Venture were the partners and collaborators on this project.
“Collaborating with Carilion Clinic is an exciting opportunity. Our Park Assist solution will significantly improve parking operations, helping the hospital maintain its reputation for excellence in patient care,” said Coley Nash, Regional Sales Executive, Northeast.
The heart of the Park Assist Solution at Carilion Ronaoke Memorial Hospital is the camera-based C5 Smart Counting Solution. This advanced parking solution, unlike traditional loop vehicle counting systems, can be installed without interrupting parking garage traffic flow and offers exceptional accuracy, flexibility, and real-time data insights. The C5 cameras are strategically placed in key locations, accurately detecting bidirectional traffic with over 96% accuracy. The data is then transmitted to a data analytics platform, INX, for comprehensive reporting, allowing the hospital to make better informed decisions.
The hospital’s smart parking solution package also includes:
- Park Alerts, to efficiently alert parking management about occupancy,
- a proprietary INX platform, providing operators with both real-time and historical data to help with resource planning and identifying trends in usage.
Thanks to Robins & Morton / Branch Builds, A Joint Venture for their partnership and collaboration on this project.
