Raytec involved in VIP estate installation

Northumberland, UK

Blue Mountain Systems has used the latest lighting technology from Raytec as part of a new, high security installation at a 17 acre country estate.

The property is owned by a wealthy VIP and is protected by CCTV which is monitored around the clock from two separate control rooms.

The RAYMAX 300 triple-panel Infra-Red illuminators, with wide angle lenses giving 360 degree even illumination, were chosen because they not only deliver high quality lighting for the dome cameras, they also met the client's demanding criteria for aesthetics.

The estate, which overlooks the Thames, is said to be one of the most beautiful manor properties in England.

"The problem we were confronted with is that the camera poles had been specially made by the landscape design company, and the dome cameras were chosen to blend in and look like lights," explains Blue Mountain's director Gordon Crewe.

"But with, the addition of large Infra-Red lamps and brackets, the appearance was ruined."

Determined to find a better solution, Blue Mountain turned to CCTV and security lighting specialist Raytec.

Allowing a much neater installation, the RAYMAX 300 fits snugly around the camera pole to provide neat, unobtrusive 360-degree Infra-Red coverage, making it ideal for improving the night time performance of any dome camera.

The RAYMAX 300 features Raytec's unique Adaptive Illumination allowing the installer to adjust the light projection onsite, achieving angles up to 180˚ and 360˚ using only 2 units.

"We found that the Raytec units not only look very smart, they do a really good job in ensuring clear image quality at night, without any glare," adds Gordon Crewe.
