Etherwan's advanced Ethernet PoE switch with high power output

Taipei, Taiwan

Etherwan will demonstrate its new EX78000 series managed hardened 10-port 10/100BASE (IEEE802.3at compliance) and 2-port Gigabit Ethernet switches during Intersec Dubai 2012 held from January 15th to the 17th.
The new EX78000 series provides more advanced features to accommodate the Power Device trend required more power resources.

Etherwan’s new EX78000 managed hardened switch provides flexibility of 10-port 10/100BASE-TX/FX/BX/SPF plus 2-port Gigabit-TX/SX/LX/SFP with full PoE function. To enhance the PoE capability, the upgraded EX78000 series complies with IEEE802.3at standard providing up to 30 watts power per port and fully-loaded with a 180 watts power source. This allows users to freely configure all 8 PoE ports when connecting with either IEEE802.3af (15.4W/ea) or IEEE802.3at (30W/ea) devices differently. Total numbers of IEEE802.3at PoE ports are now upgraded from 4 to 6. To provide the flexibility of fibre optic options, the EX78000 also provides connector options of SC, ST and modular SFP interfaces to match difference applications.

Like most of Etherwan’s managed Ethernet Switches, the EX78000 series also features Etherwan’s α-Ring technology which provides a high-speed network redundancy mechanism to recover from a network failure in less than 15 milliseconds with zero packet loss during the self-healing process. The EX78000 series supports full layer 2 managed functions such as port-based VLAN, QoS, IGMP, GMRP, bandwidth rate control, port trunking and mirroring, packet filtering, and IEEE802.1x Security. Its PoE control and scheduling function allows the user to schedule the power supply of each port in each single day.

Etherwan’s EX78000 series functions at a wide temperature range of -40°C to 75°C for extreme environments and is tested for functional operation at -40°C to 85°C which is an ideal selection for outdoor surveillance. The EX78000 series has been installed in tunnel surveillance and freeway surveillance including traffic analysis around the world. It is expected that the new features from the EX78000 series will bring up more turn-key surveillance solutions.

The EX78000 can be also installed with Etherwan’s equally innovative model WA4281 PoE wireless device. Via the Gigabit ports and wireless functions, the data collected by PoE cameras can be easily and uninterruptedly sent back to control centre for analysis.

Etherwan will also showcase its entire line up of IP Surveillance with Ethernet connectivity solutions during the Intersec show including, Indoor and outdoor power over ethernet switches, SFP Gigabit switches, media converters, ethernet extenders and wireless devices.
