Etherwan releases new hardened unmanaged gigabit Ethernet switch

Taipei, Taiwan

Etherwan Systems, Inc. has released a new hardened unmanaged gigabit Ethernet switch model EX41922. Equipped with two 10/100/1000Base RJ-45 copper ports with Auto MDI/MDIX function, and two dual-rate uplink 100/1000Base SFP fibre optic slots, this rugged small form factor switch is ideal for use in locations with limited space.

With two SFP fibre optic slots, the EX41922 can be used in a daisy chain formation, and is compatible with Etherwan’s Alpha-chain redundancy protocol, providing network redundancy with minimum failover time in both indoor and outdoor environments. The dual-rate compliant SFP interfaces allow for the continued use of existing equipment when migrating to a Gigabit network, achieving full forward and backward compatibility of network systems at a low cost.

The EX41922 switches are designed to operate even in the harshest environments, and can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 75°C (-40 to 167°F). Although unmanaged, the EX41922 is feature-rich with 10K jumbo frame support, full wire speed gigabit throughput, QoS support, and eco-friendly IEEE802.3az EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) compliance.
