The EL8000 Series provides media conversion between 1000BASE-TX and 1000BASESX/LX/BX/SFP fibre. It is especially suitable for industrial applications, with hardened features including high shock & vibration resistance, electrical noise immunity, wide operating temperature range from -40 to 75°C (-40 to 167°F), and optimised thermal dissipation.

The series supports link-fault-pass-through (LFPT), which provides constant monitoring of the links connected to the media converters. This ensures that if a copper link fails, the media converter will pass the fail state on throughout the link, disabling the fibre link and the copper link on the opposite end. Jumbo frames up to 10K bytes are supported, increasing throughput and transmission efficiency. A relay alarm configured by DIP switch sends notification in case of power failure or downed link.
