Zebra launches magnetic encoder for its P110i/P120i plastic card printers

CAMARILLO, Calif

Zebra Technologies (Nasdaq: ZBRA), manufacturer of card printing and bar code labelling solutions, announces a magnetic stripe card encoder option for its value line of plastic card printers.

With this factory-installed option, users can encode 3-track high-coercivity (hi-co) or lo-coercivity (lo-co) magnetic striped cards. The magnetic stripe encoder enables the P110i, a single-sided plastic card printer and the P120i, a dual-sided card printer, to be low-cost solutions for a wider variety of applications, including employee and student ID, access control, retail gift card, loyalty and membership programs.

"As personalized information on ID cards becomes more prevalent, a plastic card printer with a built-in magnetic stripe encoder is a must for some card programs," says Bob Anderson, Zebra Card Printer Solutions director of worldwide marketing. "By combining reliable mag. stripe encoding with Zebra's most affordable plastic card printers, many smaller companies, organizations and stores can offer programs and promotions that were once available only to large companies."

Zebra P110i and P120i card printers with factory-installed magnetic stripe encoder are available now from Zebra's worldwide network of dealers and distributors.
