Sadly in today’s era of raised terrorist threats, any high profile event where people gather in numbers such as sports tournaments, concerts and air shows, are considered legitimate targets for terrorists.
Wagtail dogs and handlers are trained to the highest standards and have worked in some of the most hostile environments including Afghanistan and Iraq, where they were involved in the detection of IED’s among other tasks.
Wagtail supply dogs, handlers and training for a variety of other roles including live body detection dogs, firearms, drugs, cash, tobacco, human remains (cadaver) and also provides search and rescue dogs.
Wagtail have been working with the UK Border Force since 2008 providing staff and body detection dogs at Calais, Coquelles and Dunkirk, searching freight vehicles to ensure that the UK’s border security is maintained.
