Thought leadership summit set to address security industry challenges

London, UK

The third OSPAs Thought Leadership Summit, organised in association with the NSI, takes place on Wednesday 26th February 2020 at the Royal Lancaster London – and is set to deliver a lively, thought provoking and engaging event providing a platform to confront issues faced by the security industry.

The programme will address the increasing challenges faced by the guarding community, such as the Living Wage and the rogue labour risk from labour providers. The event will also examine the Police-Alarms Industry partnership in false alarms management of the last 20 years as it faces increasing pressures from players operating without a mark of approval, new technologies and methods.

Douglas Barnett, Director, Mid-Market and Customer Risk Management at AXA Insurance will discuss Is Competence Important to the Guarding Services Sector? His talk will consider guarding services as part of the wider security tool kit which increasingly requires wide ranging skills and competence to meet today’s customer’s needs. However, all too often the race to the bottom on contract pricing results in the customer not getting what they require or consider they are procuring.

This session will explore the many issues that relate back to a difficult and poor supply chain of labour, the dubious sub-contracting across the sector that could be exposing businesses to liabilities, and current expectations of insurers.

More high-profile and influential thought leaders will be announced soon; all of whom will air their views and debate matters that have in the past been left unchallenged.
