Tdsi declares Intersec Dubai a successful product launch platform

Poole, Dorset (UK)

Access control specialist Tdsi featured several new systems at the Intersec trade fair and conference in Dubai.
At the heart of the display was the company’s new Mifare programmer, a stand-alone station that allows Mifare cards to be programmed on site - card numbers being manually input, or automatically drawn from a database. The data can then be kept completely secret by the user for ultimate security – with no need for the Mifare keys or sector information to be revealed to Tdsi, or any other party.

The unit may also be used to programme a configuration card pack, which in turn can be used to programme the Tdsi Mifare sector reader. System security is assured by a software log-in, as well as two user authority levels, Regular and Admin within the software. Supplied in kit form with a USB connection to the Mifare card read/writer, users can simply programme configuration cards for the reader and then programme the Tdsi Mifare sector reader user cards.

Following the successful introduction of its Digigarde finger print reader, Tdsi also launched an extension to the range in the form of Digigarde Smart at the exhibition. This new product allows cardholders’ finger print data to be stored directly on a Mifare smart card, rather than on the reader itself, thereby allowing the user to retain possession of their biometric data rather than having it held by a third party. Operation is straightforward; users simply present their cards to the Digigarde reader which uploads their template and then matches it to the scanned fingerprint. If the scan matches the template, access is granted.

As data is not held by the reader, operation is fast (without compromising accuracy or safety) and there are no limits to the number of users. Digigarde Smart also effectively increases security by requiring two forms of identification - card and finger.
Also on display was the latest release of Esgarde, Tdsi’s advanced integrated access management software platform. Proven in applications across the world to deliver outstanding access and integrated security systems management, Exgarde has now been upgraded to deliver a number of significant improvements in usability.

Commenting on the company’s presence at Intersec, John Davies, Tdsi’s Managing Director, said: “The Middle East is a very important market for Tdsi and we are delighted to have supplied some high profile projects in recent months. Having introduced a number of major product developments and range enhancements in the last 12 months, Intersec provided a great platform for us to demonstrate our range of solutions. With our SE Asia distribution partner SDC, we were delighted to welcome many visitors to our stand and to have the opportunity to demonstrate our new Mifare, Digigarde and Exgarde products”.
