TagMaster receives new order for LUL

Stockholm, Sweden

TagMaster has received an additional order for RFID Readers to be used on London Underground Limited (LUL) trains. The order, consisting of 100 Heavy Duty Readers, forms part of an extension to the Connect Project. TagMaster will supply the new GEN4 HD Readers for installation on LUL's new Type 3 trains, which are being produced as part of the current modernisation of the LUL network.

In 2003, TagMaster was involved in a major project to deliver an automatic vehicle positioning system for use on the LUL network. The RFID equipment formed part of the London Underground Connect Project, which included the introduction of a TETRA radio system. TagMaster's train mounted RFID Readers identify track mounted ID-tags at speed, thus enabling the onboard TETRA radio to automatically change talk group, as the train moves from one zone into another.

"We are very pleased to receive this order for additional TagMaster equipment. Our flagship installation at LUL has been in operation for more than four years and we see this new order as a confirmation of the reliability of the TagMaster equipment", says Richard Smith, business unit director - Transportation at TagMaster AB.
