Raytec named finalist in National Business Awards

Northumberland, UK

The CCTV lighting manufacturer Raytec has been named a finalist in the prestigious National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange and run in association with the Daily Telegraph. Raytec has won through to the regional finals in the 'Best Use of Technology in Business' category of the awards scheme, which has been described by the prime minister, Gordon Brown, as the 'Business Oscars'. The scheme is designed to reward and recognise excellence, best practice and innovation throughout the UK business community.

Raytec's success comes just two and half years since its start-up and the company now manufactures a range of infrared and white-light illuminators for CCTV installations. Based on modern LED technology, these illuminators combine high performance with low running costs and zero maintenance requirements. Raytec equipment is also a more efficient, low carbon emissions 'green' solution compared with old bulb based products.

"We're ecstatic about reaching the regional finals of the National Business Awards, which is a fantastic endorsement of the work we've done in meeting the need for a 21st century approach to the important area of CCTV lighting," says Raytec MD Shaun Cutler. "Since 2006 we've sold systems in over 40 countries on five continents, while helping to educate the market and raise standards through seminars, test nights and generic lighting guides designed to assist installers, end-users, specifiers, consultants and others make the most of their investment. Our success in the National Business Awards is another opportunity to keep the important subject of low energy lighting firmly on the agenda."

Lighting plays a critical role in security and specifically CCTV, and Raytec's Raymax infrared and Raylux white-light ranges significantly help to improve night-time camera image quality. Properly specified lighting plays a key role in enhancing the effectiveness of surveillance cameras. Emphasising its ongoing commitment to CCTV lighting, Raytec will be launching several new equipment advances at this year's IFSEC exhibition, as well as participating in the show's seminar programme with two key presentations on topics including illumination for IP-based camera systems.

Raytec now employs over 20 staff at its UK headquarters in Northumberland, from where the Raymax and Raylux ranges are manufactured and distributed. They're supplied as standard with a 10-year operating life and unmatched five-year warranty. The equipment's features include performance enhancing features including Adaptive Illumination (adjustable angle of light to meet the specific demands of each installation), even output illumination to ensure higher picture quality, as well as Cool Running thermal management technology.

Raytec now looks forward to the National Business Awards finals, being held this July.
