Pixim wins prestigious award

Mountain View, California (USA)

Pixim, Incorporated's D2500 Orca chipset garnered an award in the best sensor product of the year category as selected by Elektronik Magazine readers, comprised of mostly engineers and other technical professionals.

Pixim's Orca chipset placed in the top three sensors of the year, and was the only video image sensor to win in this category. Pixim chipsets are incorporated into the world's leading surveillance cameras, with dozens of manufacturers incorporating Pixim's chipsets in more than 100 security camera models shipping into over 50 countries around the world. In the last year, Pixim's client base expanded over 100%.

Pixim's patented digital pixel system (DPS) silicon and software technology produces pictures under a wide variety of lighting conditions to deliver accurate color and image quality with minimal blooming and smear in extreme lighting conditions. Wide dynamic range ensures accurate video capture in challenging lighting conditions, such as glare, direct sunlight, reflections, and strong backlight, 24/7.

Pixim's DPS image sensor converts light to a digital signal at each pixel, enabling each pixel to have independent, optimized exposure times to deliver the highest image quality and color accuracy.

Pixim's image consistency and accuracy overcomes typical limitations of existing analog technologies to provide positive subject identification caused by variable lighting and limited color accuracy.

Frost & Sullivan named Pixim, Inc. the recipient of the 2006 Technology Innovation & Leadership of the Year Award in the field of video surveillance technology in recognition of its development of the Orca chipset.
