Lambeth college opens security training facility

Lambeth, London (UK)

Ruth Henig, chairman of the security industry authority (SIA) has opened Lambeth College's CCTV training facility at its Vauxhall Centre in Lambeth, south London.

Ruth, accompanied by SIA vice-chairman, Robin Dahlberg (both Lambeth residents) met Richard Chambers, the college's principal, Julie Naldrett, head of business development, Mike Bristow, faculty director of technologies, John Wilkinson, the course tutor and Kevin Faulkner, security industry project manager.

Ruth and Robin observed a class undergoing their third day of CCTV training and spoke with students who posed questions about training, licensing and the future of the security industry.

On opening the suite Ruth said: "I am delighted to officially open the college's CCTV training facility. As we keep being reminded, we are big on CCTV cameras in the UK - more than any other country. I am pleased so many students want to take advantage of and achieve an SIA licence to work in a sector that is vital to protecting the safety of the public and reducing crime"

"Here at Lambeth College we are proud to have such excellent facilities for CCTV training so close to central London and we will continue to support the development needs of the security industry at prices that are affordable by all" said Kevin Faulkner.
