IR dome camera

Seol, Korea

Samsung Techwin's new SIR-4250 dome camera, with the advantage of built-in IR LEDs, can generate high quality images even when the area that is monitored is in total darkness.

The SIR-4250, which is equipped with a varifocal lens, is a true day/night colour/monochrome camera. Its infra-red cut filter automatically switches the camera's functionality to deal with changing lighting conditions. During the day the SIR-4250 delivers colour images at 520 TV lines whilst at night this superb camera can capture high quality monochrome images at 570 TV lines.

With a WIII chipset, the SIR-4250 can boast a number of advanced technical functions, including a four zone privacy image masking function and motion detection whilst the on-screen menu camera settings can be changed remotely via RS-485 communication. A white balance feature ensures optimum picture quality when used with supplementary sodium lighting.

The built-in high performance LEDs are up to four times brighter than ordinary LEDs ensuring camera visibility of up to 16 metres in ultra low light conditions.

The SIR-4250 can be mounted on a wall, ceiling or a slope and its 3-axix rotating dome mechanism ensures that the camera can be positioned exactly as required.

SSNR (Samsung super noise reduction) technology incorporated into the SIR-4250, dramatically reduces the noise from captured video. The result of this is a much reduced recorded file size i.e. up to 70 per cent, when using MPEG-4 compression and 40 per cent when using JPEG and thereby reducing the size of hard disc required. With MPEG-4 this is the equivalent of recording up to three times more on a hard disc compared to a camera that is not equipped with SSNR.
