Intellikey introduces new electronic locking system

W. Melbourne, FL (USA)

Intellikey's new Online Lite is an IP connected intelligent electronic locking system that can be retrofitted for use with standard door furniture with key operated locks.

Suitable for use with a wide range of locks and covering a huge range of applications, each Online Lite controller can support up to six locks and each lock can have up to 1000 associated keys, with the controller connected to a central controller by hard wired or wireless Ethernet.

It offers stand alone functionality in the event of a loss of communications and each individual lock controller unit controls access and logs all access attempts even if not connected to a central controller. Each controller is programmed via a simple local web interface where keys can also be quickly and simply enabled or disabled for use with individual locks.

This key and lock combination also incorporates a time and date function to allow or restrict access as required, giving users complete access control over each lock within the system based on time, day and key parameters. Each lock and controller is operated via 'legal' keys and only these 'legal' keys have to be programmed for use by the system - any attempt at access using unprogrammed keys is automatically recognised by the system as 'illegal' and access is rejected.

The Online Lite controller has two levels of password control allowing users to just view the system or assume full control. It can also be attached to a database where the decision as to legal or illegal key activity is is taken and passed back to the controller thus allowing for the use of large numbers of keys where required and local control. The lock controller then logs both legal and illegal attempts at access with a date and time for further analysis as well as retaining system information such as 'who' has remotely logged on.

Each intelligent key used with the system has a unique identifier that can be associated with a nominated individual. Each lock is also separately programmed to allow only specific keys to operate that lock for a specific time.

Online Lite uses a physical lock with a physical key which means users existing door furniture can be retained, reducing costs, with only the lock barrel needing to be replaced by an Intellikey electronic barrel providing intelligent high security access control with minimal disruption.
