The camera provides excellent low light video at night or in low light conditions, enabled through the digital slow shutter, making this camera suitable for indoor as well as outdoor applications, when combined with the Honeywell environmental camera housing - the HHC12.
Digital Slow Shutter technology incorporates frame integration, taking the light from multiple frames (of between 2 to 128 frames) to form the image. The result is a much brighter, sharper image, where colour information is preserved to help identify people or objects. It provides superior quality images than would previously have been obtained using the standard 25 frames per second, typical of most CCD cameras. The Digital Slow Shutter is only activated when light levels are very low, in normal light conditions the video is captured at the full frame rate. It does not require infrared illumination, saving additional expense.
The HCC484TPX features the unshielded twisted pair (UTP) video output that enables long distance video transmission of up to 3000 feet. The camera can be remotely controlled via the RS485 comms port using the on-screen display (OSD) menu, run on a PC based program. This allows full access to the menus from a central PC where multiple cameras can be controlled and reconfigured by the user. The OSD menu makes it quick and easy to set up and adjust the camera to meet the requirements of the scene.
