Finnish minister to keynote at ID WORLD 2009

Wise Media, organizer of ID WORLD International Congress, announces the participation, of Suvi Lindén, Finnish minister of communications as a keynote speaker, at the eighth ID WORLD being held in Milan from November 3 to 5, 2009.

Minister Lindén, from the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications, is actively involved in promoting the development of mobile technologies, and will address the international audience attending the eighth ID WORLD International Congress and its parallel event, the NFC Academy Conference and Exhibition.

On November 4, Minister Lindén will speak in NFC Vision 2020, the cardinal session of the NFC Academy Conference and Exhibition. During the event, she will also be discussing the Finnish Guidelines for Strong Electronic Identification, which the Finnish government actively aims to promote at EU and international levels.

"NFC technology and applications play an important role as one of the key contributors to social development. New business ideas and innovations enabled by NFC technology, encourage growth and competitiveness, create new jobs and thus promote the national economy and increase people's wellbeing," says Minister Lindén, whose participation at ID WORLD has been welcomed by Wise Media President, Sophie B. de la Giroday.

"Finland is an active pioneer in developing new technologies and different kinds of service trials and pilot projects globally and its expertise, particularly with regard to NFC; mobile and wireless technologies, is unique in the world. We are therefore delighted to welcome Minister Lindén to our annual thought leadership symposium for decision makers in the public and private sectors," she says.

At the NFC Academy Conference & Exhibition, the NFC community will gather to cover key issues and applications of the technology surrounding ID documents, access control, smart ticketing and payment systems. Mobile content and commerce, anti-counterfeiting and social networking are other areas of interest to the community, which will be addressed by both the NFC Academy Advisory board and all participants at the event.

ID WORLD International Congress, the annual conference and exhibition on advanced automatic identification technology, attracts significant numbers of industry leaders and senior government representatives and offers a unique platform for them to share their vision and communicate it to the industry at large. ID WORLD saw 56 CEOs speak at the event last year and more are expected to speak and attend this year's event.
