Envisage, Secura Systems and Rotterdam police create a secure concept for major events

Waterlooville, Hampshire

Security and safety inside and around football stadiums is often talked about during World Cup or European Championships but should also surely be discussed during national football matches. The Police in Rotterdam-Rijnmond have successfully operated two projects for the highly explosive finals between Feyenoord Rotterdam and Ajax Amsterdam. The Sentry Scope 21 Megapixel camera has been used along with wireless equipment.
The Police of Rotterdam decided to go with the Envisage European distributor Secura Systems due to the immediate availability and the unique technology used. They were pleased that Secura Systems worked in a straightforward manner and also very quickly, within two days the company had installed and were ready to operate the complex system.

There were more than 10km of wireless connections throughout the city with a constant bandwidth of approximately 45 Mbps. This was combined with the technology of the Sentry Scope 21 Megapixel cameras enabling them to observe the whole scenery in front of the stadium and the city hall at all times with only two cameras. The coverage was about 35,000 m² each, or sticking to football terminology, approximately 5 times the size of a football field.

Paul André de Jong, managing director of Secura Systems GmbH stated 'To accept challenges and to master them is the base of our daily work. It's great fun to combine different products for projects such as this to generate an efficient solution. The co-operation with the responsible people from the police was excellent and highly professional.',
