Dual path alarm signaling
Manchester, UK
The FreeCom GP communicator is compatible with any control panel and was designed to accommodate 21CN, BT's IP-based communication network. Using Vodafone's high speed GPRS network as its primary signaling path and a PSTN telephone line for backup, the Freecom GP ensures secure message delivery to the alarm receiving center. Both communication paths are constantly monitored to identify communication faults or cut lines. In the event of a failure on one of the paths, the alternative path immediately notifies the alarm receiving center and handles all communication until the fault is restored.
The Freecom GP simply plugs on directly to most control panels, or can be free-standing. On-site commissioning involves near-zero downtime, and is done with a single press of a button. The unit then automatically registers itself and downloads its settings over a secure GPRS connection - and the Freecom GP is active within seconds.
