Dorgard protects guests on the Riviera

Torquay, Devon

Torquay's elegant Headland Hotel, one of Torbay's highest three star rated hotels, and located in one of the most beautiful parts of the English Riviera, has chosen Dorgard wireless fire door retainers to protect staff and guests.
The hotel, originally the Villa Syracusa built for the Russian Romanoff family, boasts stunning sea views, magnificent architecture and relaxing atmosphere, combining outstanding service and attention to detail with the very highest standards of safety and security.

Toby Downer, the Headland's General Manager, comments, 'Enhancing access without compromising fire safety is of upmost importance to the hotel. Dorgard allows us to ensure that fire doors are kept open legally and safely. Installation also proved to be very easy with no disruption - the perfect solution.'

Dorgard enables fire doors to be legally and safely kept open as it allows the door to close when the fire alarm sounds, preventing the spread of fire and smoke. Installation on to the bottom of the fire door takes less than 5 minutes.

Features of the Dorgard include sensitivity adjustment, fail-to-safe technology, improved access throughout buildings in line with the Equality Act 2010 and it complies with BS EN 1155. This product is also accepted by the Fire and Rescue Service. It is available in a variety of colours and finishes. There is an automatic night-time release facility and it complies with BS 7273-4 category C.
