Derwent reg cameras installed at world's longest bridge

Cramlington, UK

Derwent's REG cameras are being used to capture number plates for a tolling application involving vehicles travelling at highway speeds at the Lake Pontchatrain Causeway in New Orleans.

The 24 mile long bridge holds the distinction of being the world's longest bridge and carries an estimates 30,000 vehicles per day. The REG cameras will provide high contrast images of number plates from vehicles travelling at speeds to 100 miles per hour - day and night. The project was completed by Stealth Security, a Louisiana-based company specializing in the consultation, installation and service of integrated security systems.
