Data Integration Services module for efusion from Maxxess

Annaheim, Ca (USA)

Maxxess has developed the efusion Data Integration Services module (DIS). The DIS is a powerful service module designed to allow integration between the efusion database and other system databases keeping the database synchronised and allowing the user to choose one point of data entry. The other systems may use relational databases such as SQL or Access or merely flat file structures. Custom DIS connectors are also available for proprietary databases.
The Active Directory (AD) connector is one of many connectors managed by the DIS, but certainly one of the most important. Active Directory is a centralised and standardised system that automates network management of user data, security, and distributed resources, and enables interoperation with other directories.

The DIS features include central location for network administration and security, single point of entry for multiple databases, the ability to scale up or down easily, standardising access to application data and synchronisation of updates across databases.

Unlike other systems, the Maxxess DIS module can integrate all of an organisation's identities, not just operators, with AD. With this type of integration the end user can synchronise data from the AD system into efusion as well as have one point of data entry for its identities. For identities that do not have logical access (and are not included in the Active Directory) such as the cleaning crew or manual contractors), the identity is entered using efusion. Every identity can be covered with the DIS module.

When the employee is hired and added into AD, the identity is automatically added into efusion for access control. The DIS AD connector allows the user to map the attributes in AD to the fields in efusion. This allows any fields to be mapped even the access levels and badge number. When a user in AD is disabled/enabled, their identity in efusion is also disabled/enabled. This allows the customer to disable the logical access and physical access to the building in one single action.
