Confidence Vidionics upgrades British government authority

London, UK

Security company Confidence's UK subsidiary has signed an agreement for delivery of an IP-based command and control solution upgrade for a British government authority in Central London. Confidence is using its' technology to digitise analogue camera inputs and create a 'virtual matrix' that provides real-time command, control and recording. This migration path approach can be replicated throughout many UK institutions.
Confidence International's UK subsidiary Confidence Vidionics has signed an impressive agreement with a British government authority in Central London. For security reasons, the name of the authority cannot be divulged, but Confidence will upgrade the existing surveillance platform with digital IP-based camera command and control solution. This will enhance and centralise control of the surveillance system and improve functionality, flexibility and ease of use for operators.

"The authority's existing camera equipment is of a high quality and it was decided to re-align the centralised control system to make use of the leading edge technology currently available," says Chris Bedding, general manager at Confidence Vidionics. "We are modernising the technology by, among other things, digitising the analogue camera inputs and enhancing the digital search facility with analysis tools."

London is a City with a lot of surveillance cameras, but the technology being used is of varying ages. Confidence is employing IP technology to make surveillance more effective, which among other things offers the customer the advantage of being easily expandable. Within this upgrade the cameras will be integrated into the existing access control and alarm system.

Confidence has made use of its newly established Confidence IT Excellence Centre, CITEC, to assist the account manager in deciding which technology and solution can best satisfy the particular needs of the Customer. CITEC has worked closely with Confidence Vidionics to design the solution, and the co-operation will continue throughout installation and systems integration.

"The new installation is a concrete example of a deal that has been successful due to CITEC's specialised expertise," says Hayley Winney, expert in IP-based security solutions and head of CITEC. "We have used our IP know-how to help the customer maximise returns on previous investments and at the same time gain access to the possibilities modern technology has to offer."

The deal is initially worth in excess of 1.3 million Swedish crowns.
