Archiving surveillance on London buses
London, UK and Dietzenbach, Germany
Rimage provides a long-term solution to United Busways with a 5400N system that streamlines the department’s workflow into an automated archival process. The system archives video in a stable format, meeting the high evidence standards needed for the investigations of the Crown Prosecution Service.
The solution also lightens the workload of Martin Davis, the CCTV manager of London United Busways, whose job is to manage all aspects of the CCTV systems fitted to the buses. The bulk of his job includes producing, maintaining and archiving the footage used for evidence in the court system.
The Rimage 5400N produces a final disc with the date, time, reference and responsible user thermally printed onto the disc by the Rimage Everest thermal retransfer printer. The result is a secure, scratch-proof, waterproof, fade-resistant and permanent disc which is a cost-effective way to store large amounts of video data.
"The Rimage solution not only saves time and manual labur, but easily produces a professional looking product that is defect-free," said Juergen Sattelmayer, Rimage Business Development Manager in EMEA.
