ADI-Gardiner helps to protect Glasgow sheriff court from fire

Lancashire, UK

Glasgow sheriff court

The iconic Glasgow sheriff court on the banks of the Clyde has been bespoke fitted with the latest fire safety equipment thanks to a new partnership between the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) division of leading installers Morris and Spottiswood and nationally based fire and security supplier ADI-Gardiner.

With offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Manchester, Morris and Spottiswood has an impressive portfolio of projects in retail, banking, commercial, education and healthcare across Scotland and Northern England. The M&E Division also provides new build, fit out, refurbishment and maintenance services to the social housing sector.

Glasgow sheriff court required full fire safety coverage, and the LS system specified consisted of Advanced Electronics MX4000 Series fire panels and Apollo detection devices, a system similar to that used in Morris and Spottiswood's own premises. The six month project completed in 2006 involved installing the system throughout the court with an associated door entry security system.

"Last year we set up our own fire division for installation and maintenance, working with the Glasgow branch of ADI-Gardiner and their regional fire division representative Campbell Bailey to specify and source necessary equipment," says Bruce Fraser, manager for Morris and Spottiswood's M&E.

"Their service in respect to the Glasgow sheriff court contract was very proactive. When the job was placed, they agreed to order and hold all the materials at their premises and deliver them to site in stages to fit in with the phasing of the works. We installed Advanced Electronics MX4000 Series fire panels with network software and a full graphics package, including a PC with touch screen monitor for detection within the site, utilised via Apollo smoke/heat detectors and call points." Mr Fraser continues.
