Traknet Technologies, the Wirral-based group’s in-house division, has created a suite of integrated innovations now at the heart of the company’s operational infrastructure, supporting expansion in the UK and internationally. These power everything from CCTV monitoring and access control to workforce management and business intelligence across Copeland’s national operations. The technology is designed to meet the needs of the security, monitoring and facilities management sectors.
Voice activated AI assistant
At the centre of the Traknet platform is T.A.L.I.U.M. – the initials stand for Tactical, Adaptive, Logical, Intelligent, Unified Manager. It is a voice-activated AI assistant that enables staff and management to interact directly with Copeland's business data through conversation. T.A.L.I.U.M. provides access to information including live operational performance, workforce scheduling, financial and customer relationship data, and vehicle tracking. By interacting with it in the same way as voice-controlled assistants such as Siri and Alexa, users can receive instant responses drawn from across the business. It consolidates data from customer relationship management, operations, finance, communications, key and vehicle tracking and workforce management into a single system, providing real-time oversight across multiple sites and service lines.
Copeland Connect
Another element of the Traknet ecosystem is Copeland Connect, the company’s dedicated workforce app for site-based and mobile patrol staff, which is integrated into T.A.L.I.U.M. It supports functions such as clocking in, facial recognition, holiday management, incident reporting and lone worker check-ins. The app also enables staff to conduct vehicle checks, raise SOS alerts directly to the control room, access guidance, view company updates and order uniforms, while supporting staff wellbeing through hydration and activity reminders.
Traknet VMS
Traknet VMS is Copeland’s remote monitoring solution, currently overseeing more than 7,000 CCTV cameras, intruder alarms and fire systems at sites across the UK from its control room in Bromborough and a facility in Stockport. Compatible with all CCTV platforms and brands, it uses AI-powered facial recognition technology to support identification and verification. It is capable of monitoring sites internationally, combining remote monitoring with physical response.
Smartlock
The suite of Traknet innovations is rounded off with Smartlock, an app-based access control system linked with the company’s camera technology. Designed for vacant properties, warehouses and industrial premises, it removes reliance on traditional key-based systems by facilitating entry via password verification and a secure one-time passcode.
Kyle Disley, chief executive of Copeland, which currently turns over £6m a year, said: “As the business grows, we need systems that scale with it. “Traknet is our answer to that challenge and sits at the very core of our strategy. It’s technology we have developed and built ourselves, tailored precisely to what we do and what our clients need. It keeps us ahead of the curve, improves efficiency for our teams and futureproofs the business as we expand, both in the UK and internationally.
T.A.L.I.U.M. is a key part of this and marks a step change in how we run the business. Being able to ask a question and get an instant, intelligent answer from across all of our data, whether operational, financial or workforce-related, genuinely sets Copeland apart. By removing the need to navigate multiple systems or reports, T.A.L.I.U.M. empowers decision-making at every level of the group, from the control room to the boardroom."
Kyle said Copeland is targeting significant organic growth over the next three years, alongside potential acquisitions. “The investment in Traknet is central to our objectives, enabling the company to support more sites, improve integration, attract new business in the UK and internationally, and reduce the administrative burden on our field teams,” he added.
Copeland, which Kyle founded in 2003, employs more than 80 staff providing security, monitoring, maintenance and lone worker protection services nationwide.
